One year ago today I married the only man I have ever loved. As many of you know Chad and I met 23 years ago. We had many ups and downs as well as many ons and offs. But we never gave up on what we had. We made a wonderful son, Chase Helvey, who was the biggest blessing of all. And the story continued... Last March Chad and I had been living together for 7 months and talking about marriage for all of them. I was in no hurry, after all it had been 23 years in the making. On March 29th 2013, Good Friday, I woke up and went to my spot on the couch. Chad brought me my coffee then he did the most amazing thing. He got down on one knee and proceded to tell me that I was the only woman he had ever loved. Also, that he would lay down his life for me. He promised to never hurt me, always protect me and never leave me. We went to Gatlinburg and got our marriage license. We called a preacher from Marry Me in Tennessee. He met us in Patroit Park where we were married, in a Gazibo, in the rain....It was perfect. Chad cried through the whole ceremony and then hugged the preacher before he kissed the bride. That day gave me one of the best memories of my life. As fate would have it, Chad was taken away from me a few short months later when he was called to Heaven. So I am wishing my Husband a Happy Anniversary in Heaven this year....I love you baby!!
