One year ago today I was in a tragic accident. Just getting off work I texted my husband to let him know I was on my way as I rode my Harley to work this day at Quality Inn and Suites on July 19 the 2013. I never made it home till two and a half weeks later but I DID make it back home. ;)) Tradjically, As I left work coming down the road approx 20 mph by Flying J truck stop a semi didnt see me coming and turned in front of me. My body instantly went into shock thankfully, I was awake but aware of what had just happened until I got to the hospital I remember a Doctor telling me they had to amputate my left leg. Then my husband and daughter Jessica got to come see me before they took my leg. I know in my heart my daughter Jessica Dank Hiles would always be there for me as Im her momma, I was scared how my husband would take it with me losing a limb, I was scared he would leave me and when I heard him say hes not going to leave me I was much better still in shock. After surgery waking up to the most beautiful faces , my children. Jennifer Funk Hiles Jessica, Bodhi Sol Ciara Rose High Courtney High I love you kids and so happy to be here with you all today. Besides my leg my left wrist was shattered I got 9 screws and a plate, right collar bone broken four staples both in my head and elbow. I needed 4 pints of blood. I was hospitalized for 2 in a half weeks , the last week in a half I had physical therapy went very well. I want to thank everybody who visited, called, sent flowers your all the reason Im so strong today. I go see my doctor once a month now, still on medication and have phantom pains and still slow at walking but will get there in time. Also thinking about Chris, the trucker on this day whom I forgive him I got to meet him. Thank you all so much heres a few pics. I love you all.
