One year ago today I was sitting at St. Elizabeth Regional imagining the unknown. I have burned my skin on a hot pan or curling iron and thought it was so painful... I couldnt imagine the pain Winston went through with over 40% of his body burned. Today marks my hot water awareness day! Please please check your water temps in your house! Especially if you have little ones or elderly. I never thought something like this would happen to me. I never thought I could ever make a mistake like this. Now Winston lives with problems and scars the rest of his life. My mom told me once that its Gods way of keeping a person humble. Dont take things for granted. Check your temps! And never ever turn your back on a child in a tub. Most of us already know the rules, but actually following them is hard sometimes when life gets busy. Please use Winstons story as a daily reminder!
