One year ago today I wrote in my journal that I was completely disgusted. My work had been ignored, insulted, and almost erased. Or at least that was my perception at the time. But, when you create work it exists so thats all hyperbolic projection that really deserves no investment. I was furious though. Also, news of the world can be debilitating. So, Im remembering one of my favorite comedic performers, Gilda Radner. So much heart. And I know that when she said she felt tired and drained she was told she was depressed. So by the time they detected her tumor, after a year of anti-depressants, it was the size of a grapefruit and her cancer was terminal. Still she tried to ward off the cancerous cells with vivid imaginings. Gildas Place is in New York and her legacy lives. And I dont get to complain. ...so, its the laughter... #nocomplainingrandall
