Online shopping has grown as online payment methods became more trusted. For online payment systems to be accepted, you need only two things: reliable technology and trust. But can online payment systems like PayPal change the world beyond just how we shop and pay for things? The big-idea is this: Burgeoning consumption and affluence places ever greater strain on natural resources and supply chains. A company such as eBay (or Amazon, etc) with secure payment methods like PayPal can be part of a solution by allowing less resource intensive ways for people to obtain what they need. Digital transactions and realigned supply chains mean that a person can purchase an item without going to a physical store.
