Only 4 remaining of the original 80 Doolittle Raiders who bravely - TopicsExpress

Only 4 remaining of the original 80 Doolittle Raiders who bravely took off prematurely from the decks of aircraft carriers in rough, rainy seas 600 miles offshore from the Japanese homeland during April, 1942, in World War II to fly the very first Japanes air-raid against Japan after Pearl Harbour attack in December. It was more symbolic than anything because the raid caused little damage and few casualties, but from a psychological point-of-view the Japanese people were given an earnest, early wake-up call that the Americans were in earnest about revenge and were coming after them toward the methodical march to the Japanese home islands, no matter what the cost..........This will be the last REUNION OF THE DOOLITTLE RAIDERS AND A FOND FAREWELL AND TAPS TO THEIR FALLEN COMRADES WHO COULD NO LONGER BE WITH THEM TO TASTE THEIR LAST DRINK OF COGNAC TOGETHER AND AMERICA SALUTES THEM, ALSO, WITH A BITTER-SWEET SALUTE......
