Being born on an ancient minor holy day isnt easy and naturally Im here to make a big deal about it via a short history lesson as follows: Imbolc/Brighids Day - A Gaelic festival of the coming of spring, specifically referring to the pregnancy of lambs for spring births can be celebrated today, give or take, as the halfway point between winter and spring solstices. Candlemas - A Christian tradition of the blessing of candles to be used throughout the home and church in the new year. The fourth Joyful Mystery of the Rosary - The presenting of the 40 day old Jesus to the church. The Purification of Mary - A marking of the recovery and cleansing time 40 days after birth of child. Superstition - Any wintery decorations left up after today would bring bad luck. -Sunny weather on Candlemas brings back winter. -If you get a candle at church, light it before you enter your house to ward off death another year. We have a huge ground-dwelling rodent with which Ive continuously been associated. Clearly there much more interesting and useful information than he can offer. I mean, look, I am basically the embodiment of spring cleaning. Theres even a virgin uterus to be cleaned.
