Only tears after four years of sleepless nights TWO families - TopicsExpress

Only tears after four years of sleepless nights TWO families hung on every word uttered by Judge Jeanette Traverso in the Western Cape High Court yesterday. Anni Hindocha’s family hoped desperately to hear the truth of what really happened the night their daughter died violently in Khayelitsha in 2010. On the other side of the dock, occupied by bridegroom Shrien Dewani, the Dewani family were on tenterhooks to discover if their son had been acquitted of murder. The Dewanis were able to leave the court wreathed in smiles. The Hindochas left “saddened”, saying the South African justice system had failed them. The Hindochas said they had had four years of sleepless nights wondering exactly what happened to Anni the night she was murdered in Khayelitsha in 2010. Her body was found in an abandoned shuttle taxi the following morning. Yesterday, in an emotional end to the murder trial, Anni’s family left the court in tears.
