You’ve provided encouragement to me when you found That I was at an all time low, You said “Get up and go” in the friendliest way That a saint could ever know, You’ve allowed certain Christians to pray and to read The Word of God at their own pace, So I nominate you from the Christian milieu As a winner of the race. You’ve provided encouragement when things looked so bad That I could not see the light, All the Scriptures you quoted and words of advice Were the good songs in the night, When I told you my fears as I shed many tears, You did not get on my case, So I nominate you from the Christian milieu As a winner of the race. At the end of the race, an incorruptible crown Will be awarded to the best, There’s a great cloud of witnesses that cheer on the saints >From the east unto the west, When you get resurrected, I imagine you wearing A radiant, smiling face, So I nominate you form the Christian milieu As a winner of the race.
