~Open Auditions~ Chicagos Theatre Momentum is holding auditions for our upcoming production, The Road Less Traveled, on Wednesday, March 12th and Sunday, March 16th. We are seeking to cast 8-10 total players. These auditions are a little different than your average audition, and we think this will be a great way to get to know your actual skills and ensemble dynamics. The Road Less Traveled will explore the fictionalized life of an audience member, had they made a different life choice at some point in the distance past. The objective is to play as truthfully as possible the life of a real person, had a different choice altered their life forever. Given TMs unique Improv as Theatre style, we will be approaching the audition process as an audition for a 4-week intensive workshop-style session, in which you will get to know each other as performers, and in which the Artistic Director can get to know more about your skills than would be evident in a regular audition. From the 4-week intensive, the Artistic Director will select the cast of The Road Less Traveled. Auditions are just for The Road Less Traveled, and any future productions will be cast independently, so you only need to commit to one production, and if you wish to audition in the future, you will have the opportunity later in 2014. The auditions will run 7-10 PM on Wednesday, March 12th and 3-6 PM on Sunday, March 16th. Auditioners are expected to remain the entire audition time, so please plan accordingly. All rehearsals will be on Wednesday nights, with the Intensive running March 19-April 9, 7-10 PM. Once the cast is selected, rehearsals will run Wednesday nights, 7-10 PM, April 16-June 11 (no rehearsal on 4/23). Performances will be 8 PM on Friday and Saturday nights, June 13-July 26th (no performance July 4 or 5). All performances will take place at the Theatre Momentum studios. Auditions will be held at the Theatre Momentum Studio, 1800 W. Intensive Workshops (4 weeks) Wednesdays, 7-10 PM, March 19-April 9 All performers must attend these intensives, intended as a getting to know you period for the potential cast and the Artistic Director, who will be directing The Road Less Traveled and all the shows in the 2014 season. Players will get time to learn the Improv as Theatre style, which is a distinct approach to improv used in all TMs performances. These are mandatory, and if you cannot attend these workshops, please do not audition at this time. There will be future auditions.
