Open Letter to Mme Edna Mamonyane (Spokeswoman - JMPD) Dear - TopicsExpress

Open Letter to Mme Edna Mamonyane (Spokeswoman - JMPD) Dear Mme Edna Mamonyane Hope and trust that youre well so is your 19yr old son that I believe was irrelevant to keep referring to during your opinion about Car Spinning when interviewed by Cutting Edge Team because it was really embarrassing especially for the FACT that you seem not aware or have the knowledge of what you were talking about. I say this because if you were aware about Motorsport then you wouldve known that we have a lot of sporting codes sanctioned under MSA and Car Spinning is one of them. A person of you caliber and that holds the position you hold in matters relating to Traffic Law Enforcement should be practically, theoretically and academically well balanced all round. Dont give us reasons to assume that youre also Hlaudi-ng or Jordan-ing us. For you to keep on referring to Car Spinning as Drag Racing more than once in your interview was embarrassing not only to you as a person, but also to your 19year old son, women, but worst towards your employer, JMPD and the Mayor. As for not knowing that as per MSA Law any child from the age of 10years old can be trained, accredited and participate in any form of Motorsport so long as his/her parents approves this career move was the worst ignorance ever coming from a person of your stature. Mme Edna, you need to seek the advise before you can commit to some interviews, especially if you not sure of the Subject Matter you being interviewed on. I strongly believe that Supt Enoch Sibiya, Pinkie, Adien or Kgabi from JMPD Events Department wouldve represented JMPD much better on this matter. Allow me to educate you a little bit about Car Spinning & Drag Racing differences: 1) Car Spinning is done at the LOWER SPEED while Drag Racing is done at a HIGH SPEED. 2) Car Spinning is more of an entertainment sport done in smaller space 25m x 25m radius while Drag Racing is about racing either with another Car/Driver or Time normally on quarter mile distance. 3) Car Spinning its best demonstrated with a rear wheel drive car with a Slip Diff or Lock Diff hence the BMW Box Shape being the most preferred car model while Drag Racing it can be demonstrated using any car front/rear wheel drive car. 4) Car Spinning it is a proudly and SA indigenous motorsport brewed from our Townships while Drag Racing is a western and foreign motorsport. 5) Car Spinning is prominently loved and practiced by Blacks, Coloreds and Indians while Drag Racing is prominently loved and practiced by Whites. (Maybe thats why you dont take it serious) Mme Edna Ill like to assure you that Car Spinning unlike in the olden days it has changed and it is not how or what it used to be when you were growing up. Now it can be enjoyed even practiced by all genders and ages from 10years old as you could see on #CuttingEdge. And having been exposed to a car at an early age of 10years like Panjaro could also allow and teach that person basic driving lessons that would give them confidence when they eventually go for their Drivers License as long as they doing this in private/exclusive grounds/places under the supervision of an elderly person with Driving License. To some extend I dont blame your opinion on the matter because sometimes the work that other people do condemns, blinds and programs their reasoning capacity. I must however AGREE with you on the issue of #Safety... #Safety should always be at the paramount of every Event including Car Spinning and should be practiced in exclusive and safer environments away from the public roads UNLESS necessary processes of compliance has been followed by the organizers and approved by all stakeholders concerned. Remember you guys approved the Soweto Street Race? I find it pathetic and backwards that you would allow Onhlebezikhanyalanga to bring their supercharged cars that we cant even afford to Soweto, close the biggest main road and divert traffic to inconvenience the residents of Soweto, but you dont support a culture/sport that people from Soweto loves so much. In closing I will like to advise you Mme Edna to be open-minded and allow your Son to choose the career/sport he likes and bring him for some spinning lessons because for all you know he could already be doing it without your knowledge. I personally dont have any problem with your opinion about us because it doesnt really matter and theres nothing you can do to STOP us from practicing what we love, especially because some of us we doing it within the LAW and we consult with JOC and other stakeholders all the time, however it was equally important for me to share my view/opinion on it. I like you Mme Edna Mamonyane, youre great mother. Sebetsa le sechaba sa hao sa Rantsho hee mme waka. #KasiMotorsport is alive... Regards... Pule Earm Motloung is a Chairman - Founder of Soweto Drift Group and this Open Letter was written under that capacity. [email protected] @SowetoDriftSA
