#Operation_Rudisha_Daktari SHOMPOLE TRIP REPORT: It is my pleasure to update you on our findings from Shompole, Magadi. Myself, Hon. Sopiato Leah, Oreteti Le Kipoy, Oloika Ole Tanchu, Hon Diana(Member of Kajiado County Assembly) went to Shompole to get First hand info from Joseph Moshilla Kereto who has been for the last two years been denied an opportunity to sit for his KCSE examinations. The following were our findings: 1. Kereto has been to Magadi Secondary School up to Form 3, a time when a teacher by the name Mbuthia EXPELLED him out of the school on grounds of ABSENTEEISM. The boy narrates that due to lack of house rent and food he had no option but to go home to avoid starvation. His Father confirmed that Yes the boy had a valid reason to be absent. The Father took the step of going to the Local Chief for assistance but the Chief REFUSED to persuade the teacher on behalf of the Old Man & I quote Olaiguanani tushukoki ena ayoni ai sukuul siake, the Chief replied Mashukoki!! It is with this reasons that Kereto decided to desperately look for education elsewhere. He transferred to St. Charles Mutego in Karen. 2. At the St. Charles, Kereto successfully did his Indexing exam. His Old Father lost his two wives and the sponsor who was helping partly also died. The Old man in grief did not lose hope but continued to sell the remaining Family animals to facilitate Keretos school fees. a) Upon registration for KCSE in 2014 they paid the required Kshs 7500 and went back to get full school fees as it were a condition for the school. The headteacher went ahead and deposited the registration fee to the SCHOOL FEES account making Kereto a non-registered student. In his mind Kereto knew he was registered for KCSE but when the Nominal Confirmatory list came his name was missing and was forced to go back to Form 3 when his classmates sat for KCSE. b) He again registered for KCSE in 2014 this year but he was some time in June this year told that his name is not registered for KCSE again. He took the step of approaching KNEC to know why? He was then told there that his money was taken back to the school account to cater for school fees and his index number given to another student who will sit for his exam this year. c) At St. Charles Kereto was the School head-boy at St. Charles and there was a time riots happened and goons were hired to KILL him being the head-boy on allegations that he was conspiring with the School Admin. Five boys were EXPELLED being the ones who organized the chaos. Thanks to God Kereto escaped and all that his father wanted is too see him alive. A MAASAI child from Kajiado lost a life as a result of the riots. Very SAD We have established beyond doubt that Kereto is in dire need of Education and Financial help. We therefore ask well-wishers to come in and help Daktari achieve his dreams. We have agreed that he will go to school next term to Form 3, Sit for Indexing Exam and hopefully do his KCSE in 2015 in a totally new school. Please contact Hon. Sopiato, Lemayian Ole Kereto, Philip Parsitau, Nkarrabali Ole Sargenkongu to channel your help. We also wish to say that the culpable St. Charles Mutego have a case to answer. May God bless you all Lelero e Maa. Kanyor intae enaa enerok enkongu ai.
