Opportunity for individuals with physical disabilities to be on a new t.v. show. Rebecca Greenberg is a casting producer at Shed Media US. They are casting a major cable network pilot based on the UK prank series “I’m Spazticus” which is currently on its 3rd season. The show uses irreverent comedy to explore the world of disability and features disabled performers pranking non-disabled members of the public. Much like the UK show, they are looking for a diverse cast with a range of different disabilities such as amputees, vision impaired, wheelchair users and little people – all with great comedic timing and improvisational skill. Casting is a two-step process of a meeting and then a screen test for selected performers. They are looking for potential series regulars as well as ad hoc performers. The pilot will shoot in Los Angeles mid-November 2014. Recreating this series for American audiences has been championed by Lawrence Carter-Long, who has worked with many disabled advocacy groups, including the National Council on Disability. Lawrence was the first to screen “I’m Spazticus” on American shores, and we’re honored to have him working as a producer on the American series.
