Opposition Q&A: Manchester City: For the last game of our season I spoke Man City fan Ric Turner from the BlueMoon website. Ric answered these questions before the 3-3 draw result between Palace and Liverpool. Are you happy with your league position this season? Who will win the league? It depends where we finish! Before Liverpool’s defeat to Chelsea (and our victory at Palace), I felt the title race was over and that would have represented underachievement, given the squad we have. Suddenly, however, we’re right back in it, although Everton away will be difficult. I’d say it’s pretty much 50/50 between us and Liverpool as to who wins the league from here. Are you happy with Manuel Pellegrini as a manager? I think Pellegrini has done reasonably well in his first season in English football. He has brought harmony to the dressing room, and has the respect of theplayers. We’ve played some scintillating football at times this season, and he is imposing his footballing philosophy on the club. However, he isn’t immune from criticism. He lacks tactical flexibility, sticking rigidly to his plan regardless of whether or not it is working. How is West ham and their fans perceived in Manchester City circles? Most City fans have always had a soft spot for West Ham, and see them as the London club most similar to ourselves in terms of loyal fanbase. I think it dates back to when we were relegated at Upton Park in the mid eighties, and the reaction of your fans that day. A mutual loathing of Manchester United and Spurs helps too. What is your view on West Ham moving to the Olympic Stadium? City as a club benefitted greatly from our move to the Commonwealth Stadium in 2003 (indeed, but for that move we probably wouldn’t have been taken over by Sheikh Mansour in 2008) and I hope West Ham can similarly reap the rewards. It will be a great move for the club. The fact that the move outraged Spurs is an additional bonus. We know who your key players are, who has disappoint you the most this season? Micah Richards seems to be regressing at an alarming rate, although he has been unlucky with injuries and has had limited opportunities. Samir Nasri continues to frustrate at times too. He has all the ability in the world, but question marks remain over his consistency. What is your Achilles heel? We tend to struggle against teams who press us high up in the pitch and don’t allow us time on the ball. If you could have any West Ham player in your team who would you choose? Winston Reid is a fine centre half. West Ham have been linked with Joleon Lescott and Micah Richards in the summer? Would you recommend them? They have both been great servants to the club, and would be good signings for West Ham. They just need regular first team football, which isn’t guaranteed at City. Where would you recommend away fans go in Manchester for something to eat and drink? You’re best off drinking in the city centre, rather than near the ground. It’s only a couple of tram stops, or just over a fiver in a cab, to the stadium. I’d recommend the Northern Quarter, plenty of good bars around there although they can be strict regarding wearing colours. Score and prediction for Sunday? City to win 3-1, and clinch the league title! Thanks to Ric. bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk bit.ly/1iBauQL
