OptiFDTD Research Scientist - OPTIWAVE SYSTEMS INC. (Ottawa, ON, Canada) This position will be primarily office based for the research and development of numerical models using the Finite Difference Time Domain method. The candidate should feel comfortable communicating with potential customers at all levels (verbal, written and electronic). This position requires regular travel within North America and occasional overseas trips. The successful Research Scientist will be responsible for the following: 1. Researching and developing our OptiFDTD software tool. This includes: - Research in the field of FDTD photonic applications - Development of numerical models - Implementation of models in C++ - Integration of numerical models into OptiFDTD software - Verification with published results - Documentation of numerical models 2. Providing high-level technical support to customers and worldwide distributors 3. Delivering training and seminars on Optiwave software products 4. Supporting the sales team with product demonstrations 5. Creating technical documents based on knowledge, instruction, and problem identification, in order to build/improve Optiwave support website knowledgebase 6. Finalizing product documentation prior to new releases 7.
