The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported the agency is now offering $5,000 for information that helps them capture 46-year-old David Gordon Jenkins. He is wanted in the March 24 beating death of 26-year-old Corey Nathaniel Matthews in what the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office called a doctrinal dispute over white supremacist beliefs. On April 8, a grand jury indicted four men from neighboring Coffee County on first-degree murder and felony murder charges. Two of them, 39-year-old Todd Eugene Dalton and 26-year-old John Corey Lanier, were taken into custody following the indictment. Coty Keith Holmes, 25, was later captured in the Florida Panhandle. Jenkins is still at large. Holmes was still held in the Franklin County Jail on Friday. The booking desk said Lanier and Dalton were not there, but likely had been transferred to other lockups. Members of Matthews’ family have said the volunteer firefighter had joined the supremacist group because of friends, but they believe he was trying to sever his ties to the organization when he was found dead. A cousin said Matthews was trying to separate himself from the Aryan Nations when he was killed, but that she didn’t know further details on what steps he took to leave. Jordan Miller said relatives knew that Matthews was a member of the Aryan Nations, and he joined because he had friends in the group. She said in May that family members didn’t know the suspects and she had never seen them with her cousin. “We think he was trying to get out,” said Miller, 21. While the victim and three suspects who were arrested had ties to the Aryan Nations, Jenkins was associated with the Aryan Brotherhood, a prison-based gang known for violence and criminal operations, said Franklin County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Chris Guess. Authorities have been looking for Jenkins in Kentucky, New York and Tennessee. All four have criminal records, but Jenkins’ is the most extensive, with charges dating back to 1985 including assault, drug trafficking, resisting arrest and robbery. Jenkins is white, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He has numerous tattoos on his arms, left shoulder, chest, back and thighs, as well as numerous scars. Tips should be phoned to the TBI at 800-824-3463. the-leader/news/x187943974/Reward-doubles-for-Corning-man-wanted-in-Tenn-killing
