Orienting a new farmer Spent time today with my friend Laki Ahi who has returned home to Auala, Savaii and has started into farming there. Took him to various agriculture/garden operations that included Lilas Florist at Alafua, the Samoa-China Demo project at Nuu, the MAF Crops Division nursery at Nuu, WIBDI demo farm at Nuu and the MAF Horticultural Station at Atele. I also pointed out other interesting places along the way such as the Culture Centre at Tafaigata and the garden at Siusega. The visit helped reconfirm some ideas he has for his farming interests in Savaii as well as others he is considering. The visit also gave him valuable contacts. Below are a few pics taken at Atele.
