Osmose® Job Description Job Title: Manager - Operations Department: Osmose Communications Services, LLC. Reports To: Director - Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Atlanta, GA Summary: The Manager – Operations is responsible for building and operating a regional operations team that contributes to OCS’s goal of being a “best in class” communications engineering organization. Primary responsibilities include staff development, training and management, process development and implementation, meeting or exceeding key operational metrics, meeting or exceeding revenue and profitability targets, supporting business development plans and developing and maintaining customer relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities •Manage and lead a regional operations team consisting of field and office technical personnel, shared-service resources and administrative staff •Ensure internal revenue and profit goals are met for the region •Support the goals, vision and culture of the organization. Exhibit the company’s core beliefs and expect the same from employees. •Effectively and proactively train and on-board new employees •Support the implementation of processes, tools, automation, that eliminate unnecessary manual work, reduce training times and increase productivity. •Work effectively with all internal teams and promote teamwork within the organization •Work closely with our business development team to manage ongoing relationships and support efforts to identify and close opportunities with new customers •Grow revenue with existing customers through superior performance and new services capabilities •Maximize our presence within the region •Effectively manage projects through reporting, communications, scheduling, monitoring, etc. •Consistently evaluate key performance metrics on all projects (profitability, revenue, schedule, utilization, etc.) and act quickly when problems are found •Mentor and develop employees. Education and/or Experience •Minimum of five years of relevant experience in telecom engineering, operational and/or management position •Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university with a technical focus is preferred, but not required •Prior management experience is preferred •Desirable experience includes leading multi-disciplined teams of outside plant and/or inside plant engineers, managing FTTx design projects and/or managing long-haul communications projects Communication Skills •Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical information, financial reports, and contract documents •Ability to address and resolve common inquiries or complaints from customers and employees •Sound technical and business writing capabilities •Ability to effectively present information to management and other groups Mathematical Skills •Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume •Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry •Ability to read, analyze, and interpret accounting and business analysis documents Reasoning Ability •Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions •Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Other Qualifications •Proven leadership, organizational, communication, supervisory and expense control skills •Willingness to travel overnight and work varied hours, when necessary, to achieve desired results •Commitment to supporting all Company policies Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
