Osun guber poll can’t be like that of Ekiti –Adeyeye Daily Independent The Chairman, Aregbesola Campaign Committee, Olusola Adeyeye, on Wednesday, allayed the fears of residents of the state over the August 9, 2014 governorship election. He assured them that the results of the election can never go the way of that of Ekiti State. Adeyeye, fielding questions from newsmen in Osogbo during a programme tagged: ‘Newspoint‘, said: “the people of the state have demonstrated in 2011 that they can make the right choice because we have good leadership.” He explained further that the people of the state have also demonstrated their love and support for Governor Rauf Aregbesola through the way they always troop out en mass for his campaign rallies in the state. Adeyeye said the turnout of people at the mega rallies held at Iwo, Ikire, Ikirun and Ibokun was a clear demonstration of the support of the people of the state to Aregbesola’s second term bid. According to him, “I am supremely confident that what happened in Ekiti State cannot play out in the State of Osun because just as people demonstrated their support for Aregbesola in 2007, they are even now more committed to him following his outstanding performance in his first term tenure of office”. According to him, the mega rallies held so far and the remaining ones that would hold in the remaining federal constituency headquarters are designed to demonstrate the strength of the party, adding that it has always worked for his party. On the deployment of the former Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the state following pressure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adeyeye said the PDP has failed to document anything Rufus Akeju did wrong but, however, wished the incoming commissioner well with a call to be fair in his dealing with all political parties. The member, Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said he is still studying the outcome of Ekiti election, saying it was either certain malpractices played out or the people of Ekiti State made a costly error
