Other side of the advocates strike. After taking final decision through video conference the high court at about 6.30 pm on last day ordered the Ad. Judge to go to Indore by overnight express to Indore from Jabalpur which leaves Jabalpur at 11 p.m. The judges at Indore were actually dispatched like goods in one helicopter 4 in number and 3 in another helicopter to Gwalior and Jabalpur. . The aim was to have work to judges at respective Benches. But it was totally a flop show. It appeared that bounded labour was sent for Cheti (Chaitra) harvesting crops season. Perhaps by doing so it has not increased the dignity of the high Court. It would have been much better if the high court judges would have been sent during strike period to inspect the respective district courts under their port folio distinct and had vigorous inspection. It is a known fact that these judges just go and come back and perform formality of inspection. Therefore the quality of judges of district courts is not improving. It was sheer wastage of government money in sending judges by helicopters to Gwalior and Jabalpur where no substantial work was done as advocates at respective places were on strike. It would have been better if high court would have shown indulgence in resolving the dispute between the police and the advocates. But it appears that the high court was on back foot.
