I receive many hundreds of band introductions a day and concentrate my time there, rather than letting people know what I have already done, other than through my own social sharing, which occurs a day or so after the initial article. Whilst I do keep contact addresses alongside band reviews, every email I reply to I delete, else my inbox would be full of abstracts, which means by the time you open this - your question wont be in my email system - other than as a sent email or a deleted email, both of which will be parsed in the next 48 hours. The advantage I have as a journalist is that you are asking me, so I dont have to keep a thread. Every email you send needs to keep the thread else you know - I wont have a clue what you are talking about. So - I have the band - I have a week to go before the article is published - I have your email address attached to the band - will I diarise this request - no - will I remember it - probably not. If you dont publicise it, I wont die - would you guys if I hadnt written the article in the first place - no, but I certainly dont have the ego that feels the need to say - LOOK LOOK LOOK - let me remind you how wonderful I am - I wrote words. If you pick it up - thank you. If you dont - it tells me how much you value what I wrote. It is you being paid by the band and asking me to promote the band, not me begging for cross-promotion. Either promote it, or dont. It will end up on the band billing account - lets be honest - as you can only justify your fees if you send links to the band as evidence of effectiveness. So if you forget - go to the spreadsheet which points out reviews and you will find it. Your Admin thing will confirm the article is actually published prior to adding it to the numbers - that is why it is a bureaucrat. Leave it with you and if on the off-chance I do recall, I probably wont send the email anyway. Tim
