Our Director of Meat and Seafood, Carey Otwell, and some of our best Meat Department employees took an educational tour of Brenneman Pork, Inc farm in Iowa yesterday! Carey said, It was a great time spent with the Harps team learning about pork production by family farms in the U.S. Its nice to see that families can still thrive in todays environment despite the large corporate owned companies. It reminds me of Harps and the success theyve had over the years while holding onto family values. Today, they visited the World Pork Expo where they attended educational seminars on pork quality, trends in the pork market, etc. They also got to eat with the self-taught BBQ pit-master, Moe Cason! There was a lot to see and do but they had one goal in mind; to continue learning so they can better serve you, our customers. The knowledge they gained will help guide them as they continue to make educated and responsible decisions for our company and our customers.
