Our Father, We thank you today for your goodness. We thank you, Lord, that in the midst of our world that is so full of bad news, troubles and sadness…you are still good, and you are faithfully by our side through it all. You are still on the throne…you are still in control…the enemy is still defeated…and the victory is ours. The enemy of our souls would have us believe that we are defeated, that we can’t go on…he’d have us believe that we are too weak…he’d have us believe that there is no hope…that we are powerless… but you are the King of Kings…the creator of all…AND our Abba Father, and you have the last word… you have equipped us for what you’ve called us to… May these thoughts center us today…may our focus be on you and not the things of this world… Father, in the quiet of this moment, speak to our hearts. Draw us into your presence. Help us clear our minds of distractions and unwanted thoughts, so we can just focus on you right at this moment. Father, may we experience everything you have for us…each of our needs are different on every level…but the one thing we all need, is to know you more… to know you better. Every trial you allow into our life, is so we will come to know you… depend on you… and trust you in ways we have never done before. Help us to live with a heavenly perspective, Lord…help us to truly be free from the cares of this world…we know we must be in this world, but we are not of it… Lord, you want to be our first love and our greatest love. When love is new and exciting, people want to be with each other constantly…they want to see each other… to be with each other… to talk to each other more than anyone else…help us to fall in love with you all over again, Lord…help us to love you in new ways as our love deepens and matures. We can only trust those who we know well…we want to be able to get past the roadblocks in our lives, Lord…we want to get to the place where we are content in whatever circumstances we find ourselves…we want to have the kind of faith, like Peter, Paul and the apostles had…the kind of faith that can sing your praises no matter what they faced…we want to experience your love that casts out all fear…we want the kind of faith that can move mountains…and we want to see things through your eyes and with your wisdom, Lord…we want to be all that you’ve called us to be, Lord. You tell us, we have not, because we ask not, or because we ask with wrong motives…help our thoughts to be pure, Lord. Please reveal anything in our lives that might be hindering our prayers. You know our needs and we want to rest in you while we wait for your will to be done… we know that you want only the best for us. Forgive us Lord, when we want our way…forgive us for settling for less than your best for us…help us to trust that you see the bigger picture and you will not lead us astray. Please go before us today, Lord. Lead us and guide us. Protect those that we love and meet their every need and fill us and use us for your glory we pray.
