Our Future Could Be Awesome If Only... By Alicia Colon Call me a cockeyed optimist but many of the recent reports about our energy resources and discoveries in medical advances conjure up visions of an America enjoying low gas and energy prices; low unemployment, high wages and low cost medical treatments. None of these changes will be possible, however, unless we have a government willing to allow them. American citizens (legitimate citizens, not just residents) can vote to elect a government that is not beholden to special interest donors and lobbyists. While this sounds unlikely at the moment, it is not impossible especially if the comatose voters who got us into this mess wake up. Fact: The United States has more energy resources than any other country thanks to recent discoveries of vast oil and gas resources. Alas, liberals regard this as horrible because the wacko environmentalists insist that fracking, which is needed to access these resources, is a terrible thing and Hollywood promotes this position with really bad films. Right, Matt Damon? Note that I wrote wacko before environmentalists because many legitimate conservationists are true scientists and are not slaves or grant-seeking minions of the left wing. These are the scientists who have determined that fracking if done properly does not contaminate the area. They are also the skeptics of the faux climatologists like Al Gore, carbon footprint billionaire, who profit over the ignorance of the low info voter. Thomas Lifson in American Thinker wrote about how the Saudis recognize the significance of fracking, citing a report: Saudi Arabias Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, a billionaire businessman and nephew of Saudi King Abdullah, said the production of shale oil and natural gas in the United States and other countries, primarily done through fracking, is a real competitive threat to any oil-producing country in the world, adding that Saudi Arabia must address the issue because it is a matter of survival. In another article he pursues this: But the Saudis, the Russians, and every other oil oligarchy in the world now understand that their power is fading. The only thing that can save them is a political movement in the United States, headed by the environmentalist groups, that could cripple this strategic weapon. That central fact must be understood in evaluating the funding and activities of environmentalists. Unfortunately that crippling movement is already in place with the current administration and a mainstream media that worships junk science. In Britain, however, politicians are waking up and urging the European Union to stifle environmental legislation that would hamper the development of the UKs shale gas industry. Now just imagine if we had a government that was truly interested in creating jobs and developing new energy resources that did not kill bald eagles; cost a fortune or simply prove to be useless. As for the medical advancements, the unbelievable is actually available -- just not in this country. Im probably one of the very few who watched the Matt Damon film, Elysium, a typical leftwing paranoiac entry, but there was something in the story that I found enticing. On the utopian Elysium space station, there was an MRI device that could cure whatever illness the patient inside was suffering from without invasive surgery. Sounds very futuristic but the fact is- not really. In Israel, the company Insightec has developed a surgical system to treat tumors and other illnesses without having to cut open the human body. A YouTube video, The operating Room of the Future, introduced by Dr, Kobi Vortman gives us a brief look at how awesome our future could be if only... ....this administration , the leftwing media and Democrats werent so determined to demonize our greatest ally in the Middle East.
