Our #GetHiking! Triangle group continued its observance of Mountains-to-Sea Trail Month Saturday with a hike on 8.3 miles of the MST at Falls Lake. Once again, the group was surprised by the diversity of the MST and impressed by the volunteer effort it takes to build and maintain the trail. Insight into the latter was provided by Catherine Neveux with the Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, who battled through a rogue knee to help lead the way. Saturday’s hike ended at the Shinleaf Recreation Area, which is where Wednesday evening’s GetHiking! Triangle hike will begin.
