Our Gunbower Forest Key Asset Protection Project team are again in the field today, working to plant and protect threatened species. Here were planting Stiff Groundsel (Senecio behrianus) an EPBC (Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act) listed species now largely absent from the area, and in fact from many areas of south-eastern Australia it once called home. The team installs guards around the new plants to offer them protection; rabbits being a particular problem. Were restoring Stiff Groundsel to this environment as a result of the opportunity provided by the environmental watering were currently undertaking through the newly constructed Hipwell Road Channel.
