Our Policies 1. Our philosophy is to offer a stress free grooming experience for your dog. We pay special attention to older pets and pets with health issues. Your pet’s safety and comfort are our first priority. We strive to provide your pet a safe and hygienic grooming experience and pride ourselves on our patience and gentle touch. We will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or a level of stress that we think is excessive. In some situations this can include nail trimming. Senior pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort. 2. You, the dog owner, will advise us of any medical, physical, or emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities, and per-existing conditions. These may include prior surgeries, hip or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections, or skin problems. 3. If your dog has behavioral issues, please let us know. Elegant Dogz Grooming reserves the right to muzzle your dog. If we arrive at your home and your dog cannot be groomed, a $30.00 minimum groom fee will apply. If you are aware that your pet may have a temperament issue and FAIL to notify us, you will be held liable for any medical treatment or property damage caused by your pet. All bites will be reported to the local authorities as required by law. Elegant Dogz Grooming reserves the right to refuse service. Pets that are extremely aggressive will NOT be groomed. We encourage any owner with extremely aggressive pets to seek grooming through a veterinarians office. These pets personality may need anesthesia for their safety and that of the groomer. 4. Appointments We will arrive as close to the schedule appointment time as possible; however, sometimes situations occur that will disrupt the daily schedule of the groomer. This includes: traffic, weather, mechanical difficulties, or spending more time with an older, younger, or difficult dog. The dog’s safety will never be compromised by rushing to meet a schedule. You will be called and advised of an arrival time when schedules change beyond our control. 5. Pricing varies for each dog and is determined by breed, size, and condition of your pet. Additional charges apply for De-matting, De-shedding, hydro clipping, for excessive coat due to the additional time it takes. Additional charges may apply due to the dog’s temperament and behavior during the groom. 6. Matting If you would like your pet brushed out, De-matting fees are $1.00 per minute. If your pet cannot be humanely De-matted, we may ask permission to clip the hair short or shave your pet and “start over.” We will always ask for your permission. Please keep in mind that a matted coat can cause numerous health conditions including itching, irritation, and skin infections. Pets with severe matting are in a health crisis – matting promotes heat exhaustion, sores, bacteria, and pain. Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles and skin folds trapped and hidden in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin allowing fungus or bacteria to grow causing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. Elegant Dogz Grooming is not responsible for any pre-existing conditions due to a matted coat, and we may advise you to seek medical attention. 7. Elegant Dogz Grooming will not groom any dog that is not up-to-date on his or her vaccinations. 8. Risks Blades and scissors are used around pets to achieve their grooming. Although we strive for safety, pets do move during grooming. We hope that you know we would NEVER intentionally harm your pet. We strive to only use the best products that are made – just like with humans, pets can have unique allergies and reactions to products. Should this happen you will see this within an hour of grooming and need to call us immediately. If you believe that shampoo or a hair may have gotten in your pet’s eye, FLUSH THE EYE IMMEDIATELY with fresh water or saline solution. Should you discover something wrong with your pet, please let us know immediately so that we may help with the situation. 9. Parking As an in home mobile groomer, we require your driveway be closest to an entrance where we can move freely to off load and gain entry to the grooming location with our equipment.. There must be an area that is covered and have access to electricity and water. We require 24 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment. We will contact you by phone, email or text message to remind you of your appointment. We will ask you to reconfirm your appointment. Failure to call 24 hours in advance may result in a charge of $30.00 that must be paid prior to your next grooming appointment. Giving advance notice gives us the opportunity to fill your grooming slot and rearrange our schedule. Mobile clients who forget their appointment, don’t provide gate access, or are not at home to release the pet; a $30.00 cancellation fee will apply. 11. Payment We accept cash, checks, and both debit and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, and Discover). Payment is due at the completion of the groom. Checks should be made out to: Dcolb Trade Specialists, There is a $35.00 charge for non-sufficient funds, cancelled checks, or closed accounts. 12. Photographs We would like have your permission to post a picture of your pet on our Facebook page or website. We will always strive to exceed your expectations. By accepting to have your pet groomed with Elegant Dogz Grooming, you are agreeing to these policies.
