Our Speaker for upcoming talk on Weds. Dr. Jeffrey M. Mitchem is Station Archeologist at the Arkansas Archeological Surveys Parkin Research Station. Located at Parkin Archeological State Park in northeast Arkansas, his research focuses on the Parkin site and related sites in the area. Parkin is a success story of The Archaeological Conservancy--after being acquired by the Conservancy, it was transformed into a state park by the State of Arkansas, and is now the subject of ongoing research while also being open to visitors. Jeff received his PhD at the University of Florida in 1989, and has been at Parkin since 1990. He is also Research Professor of Anthropology at the University of Arkansas.
