Our adoption update on May. May is doing great and every day we are so thankful to have her. I have attached a couple pictures from September 24th. May was sleeping in my office while I worked which is her normal schedule, but occasionally her buddy, Bobcat, joins her for a nap. They woke up when I snapped the picture. May passed her obedience course this summer. I wouldn’t say she passed with flying colors because often when she was supposed to be staying in one spot, she would wander over to the old couch and lay down on it. “Come quick” also didn’t seem to be something she was very interested in. She has turned out be a great farm dog. Her maternal instincts really come through. She often herds the chickens if she thinks they are straying too far from the coop. She also likes to keep the barn kittens in the barn. She doesn’t really interact with the horses, but doesn’t mind them. I often see her surveying the landscape around the pastures like she is checking in on them. She is vigilant about barking at deer in the fields which is great because then they stay away from my garden. She loves to wrestle with our other dog and will occasionally do a surprise interception of his stick or ball if we are playing with him. When she isn’t checking on all the other animals, she likes to sun bathe. I have attached a picture of her in one of her four special sun bathing locations. She really has been such a blessing to our family and we are so glad to have her!
