Our beautiful boy Eric is home after a very long and difficult day. He had a 3 hour long complex operation under general anaesthetic to mend the broken bones in his front leg. .. It took over an hour to reduce one of the fractures. Poor Eric is scheduled to have another operation on Thursday to pin the broken bone in his his hind leg. The mechanism that you can see in the photos is an external fixator used to hold the broken bones in place and will remain in situ for about 6 weeks.... when yet another surgical procedure will be done to remove the fixator.
