Our contemporary so-called Christian culture is rapidly redefining God. These are several points that struck me while studying this evening, points worth remembering. God wasnt created for us, to fulfill our pleasure. We were created for Him, to fulfill His! Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. God will not be conformed to our image, but we must be conformed to His. Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. As so many twist and manipulate Gods Word to accommodate their sin, we must remember, Gods Word is not subjective. We cannot interpret Gods Word through our experience, we MUST interpret our experience through Gods Word. Psa 119:133 Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. Despite popular opinion, Gods Word is unchanging. If we are saved however, Gods unchanging Word will be changing us. Psa 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psa 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Instead of selfish, worldly prayers, focused on getting our will done in Heaven, shouldnt we pray as Jesus instructed, for Gods will to be done on earth? Jas 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. In a world where man fancies himself to be a god and able to conform the true and living God to his whims, we must remember... God created man... Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Man cannot create God. He alone is God, Isa 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Isa 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. ...and we are not! Love to all.
