Our devotion for today Title : Rest for the weary Text : Mathew 11:28-29 28 Come to me, all you who labour and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. A yoke is defined as a stable gear that joins two draft animals at the neck so they can work together as team in pulling an object or ploughing a farm land or to accomplish a set goal. As Christians, When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal saviour we are yoked with him and enter into partnership(right living and right standing) with him (Jesus christ) This is a kind of partnership where we are promised to receive anything we ask according to his will. A kind of partnership where the medium of communication is through FAITH AND PRAYER. This partnership has no life span. It is a kind of partnership with unlimited benefits. A kind of partnership where hope is given to the hopeless, joy to the broken heart, peace to the trouble mind and direction to the lost. Wouldnt you like to take advantage of this partnership? Unfortunately,most Christians are ignorant of these privileges that we are entitled to as a partner with our Lord Jesus Christ. And we turn to carry our burdens or troubles and challenges all by ourselves. we bear needles pain all because we do not them to him in faith and prayers. Jesus Christ is calling us all who labour and heavily burdened to come to him. For he will give us rest and peace which surpasses all understanding. Lets pray Father we thank you for your mercies which are new every morning. This morning, we cast all our cares unto you.we lay all our burdens down at your feet in exchange of the rest and peace which surpasses all understanding. Amen!
