“Our education is being divided since the day ‘Ali Gahr’ and ‘Deoband’ came into being decades ago but now time has come to bring uniform education system in Pakistan”. Mr. Dost Mohammad a prominent professor at Sheikh Zaid Islamic centre university of Peshawar expressed his view regarding uniform education system in Pakistan so that to get through over the split between Maddrassa education and Modern school system. But it is the responsibility of state to do so and take each stakeholder on board including experts, educationalists, teachers, scholars and intellectuals and to device a modern uniform education syllabus for the entire country he urged. The government must constitute a high level committee in this regard to address the issue in more serious and meticulous manner. “From where the religion is being spreading has no maddrassa at all and there are separate universities for Islamic studies and teachings however in Pakistan you will find it in numbers” There are no maddrassa in Saudi Arabia instead every school has syllabus integrated with necessary religious and basic foundational education required ,so there is no need for a separate religious maddrassa’s in Saudi Arabia. He said that unfortunately in Pakistan there are a lot of maddarssa’s which are not registered with government up till now nether playing its outstanding role and those which are registered with ‘wafaq ul maddarass’ has no obvious regulation for them because wafaq ul maddarass is again divided into five schools of thoughts that makes another bewilderment for government to regulating them he said. Professor Dost mohammad added that there is no check on the narrative given to youth studying in Maddarssa established in remote tribal areas, the teacher there are not trained enough to edify children the true spirit of Islam, Quran, Hadees and other essentials of living but regrettably children are being misguided and indoctrinated with extreme ideology by misinterpreting Quranic verses. It is the prime responsibility of government to take up the issue seriously to regulate such institutions and provide free elementary education to children up to 10th grade unless it’s too late and we may end up with whole society to be extremist society.
