Our eighth grade students completed their year last Wednesday with their graduation mass and ceremonies. Fr. Smith spoke to the students in his homily of living their lives “attached to the vine” referencing the gospel of the morning where Jesus speaks of himself as the vine and his followers as the branches. Dr. Pennell also addressed the students and with Fr. Smith gave students their diplomas. Students enjoyed a luncheon with families after the ceremonies. POPCS will miss these students, some who have been with us since the early days of the Child Development Center 12 years ago! Students next year will be attending St. Joseph’s, Eastside, Riverside, and Wade Hampton high schools.
