Our family is flying into uncharted territories tomorrow. The girls have been asking me for 2 years to be in a pageant. I kept putting them off but found an opportunity for a natural pageant in at the mall in Salisbury tomorrow which was affordable. Now... being a GS leader especially, I am NOT in favor of a pretty only pageant and I wish this one had a talent category. But its only for Sundays best and patriotic theme wear, the talent goes with the semi-glitz and I told them not to get ideas for the future. The true test for my girls is POISE... Charlotte walks like an elephant and can appear to be on roller skates sometimes and Holly... well, Holly sometimes like a pole dancer, God bless her - and I do not know why. They both must have their BEST posture, BEST lady-like walk (Im already laughing) and BEST non-fake plastic smile... this is our challenge! They know I dont like these pretty only pageants since ALL the girls there are beautiful as Gods creations so winning for us is based on originality, not beauty. We are ONLY doing this for FUN and they are to cheer on the winners as if they are our family. They both chose dresses which make them feel super confident (thanks to Doris , Sally & Madison) and their patriotic looks are pretty wow to say the least (thanks Michelle and your killa machine). Charlottes is TOTALLY out of the box fo sho! Theylll be original yet pieced together with stuff we already owned only adding bling here, flower there, and accessories which Im making today (I refused to buy them anything just for this event). Winning - I really dont care.. unless its for photo to which I will take the credit ;) I summoned the spirit of Aimee and all her mad skills when I took their headshots. Standing proud for our county in the patriotic wear - YES, they will do that! Get a chuckle from the their mom, dad, and audience - no doubt. Photos to follow... Lawd help me. This is a birthday weekend Holly will never forget!
