Our final lucky winner in our Tell Us Your Veranda Story drawing is Thomas C. Chase Heres his story: My father-in-law, Don Gilbert, treated my then fiancee and me to a number of meals there while we were dating. We had nothing so charming in little Plant City, Fla. where I grew up. A few years later, when I got a smidgen of money for a Christmas bonus, Veranda was the obvious choice. As we bathed in the glow of the soft-lit, intimate area around the fireplace in the back, my foot began to rock the ice bucket stand holding our Champagne. Totally lost in my beautiful brides smile, I also lost track of the rocking bubbly..... over it went.....Kersplash! The all-pro staff swept away the mess; replaced the bottle, ice and all in an instant. Donna and I are still awed with the place, so well likely also be celebrating our 36th anniversary at the Veranda this December!
