Our first family story of 2015 by Amanda Thompson My sons heart conditions are complexed, he wasnt diagnosed until he was 16 weeks old , his main diagnosis is double outlet right ventricle, pulmonary stenosis, moderate tricuspid regurgitation, believed he suffered a stroke during his first open heart surgery at 16 weeks old, he had a rocky recovery in cardiac intensive care , his lungs collapsed , he developed air underneath his ribcage, needed 5 blood transfusions during his first night, went into surgery with a chest infection developed a serious infection and also needed emergency open heart 4 weeks after his first surgery for a pericardial infusion . We spent roughly 6 weeks in gosh, when we eventually discharged we never completed a full week at home as Bradley would go into heart failure very quickly ! His heart couldnt cope with his reflux! He has been left with visual problem, he has nystagmus and his vision in his left eye is very poor and he uses half his vision in his right eye, he has a left side weakness and has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, he also has muscle weakness in his mouth with is causing a delay in his speech development! But beside all this he is the most cheeky, happy little 2 year old, hes hitting milestone that Drs said they would expect him to be delayed in ! He bring lots of love and laughter to our family ! He had a stent fitted in June 2013 thats when things started to slowly improve, he will need a pulmonary valve replacement in the near future but his heart is stable at the min ! Love to meet other families we nr Norwich.
