Our first featured local artist of May is no other then the most lovely Lucky Jackson! Lucky Jackson is a Canadian artist who resides in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada with her husband and two beautiful girls. Lucky completed 365 Lucky Days (2011-2012) hand embroidering a new piece of art work every day for a year. Lucky Is currently completing her latest series of work., “I am the Hero of This Story (Grab Your Mask and Cape and Lets Be Heroes). The work is based on imagination and creativity being a powerful force against the battles we all encounter. I do not create with any specific medium, but let my subject matter inspire what materials to use. I enjoy making things that are fun, playful, and full of joy. I dont think that art needs to be dark, tenebrous or controversial to make a statement . I believe that art can reflect our pursuit of happiness. I hope that the viewer is connected to the humor, whimsy and nostalgia of my work and are left with a happy sentiment of their own.
