Our first festival of the year is nearly upon us!! nukefest/ NUkefest returns - a gathering of ukulele players, uke fans (or just those who are uke-curious) in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. This year at The Cotton Arms, Wrenbury, nr Nantwich. 16-18 May. The event is a mixture of the formal and informal, but the backbone is giving YOU the opportunity to perform on stage on the open mic each day on Saturday and Sunday. The whole affair is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and The Wingate Centre, Wrenbury. Its a chance to get together with like minded music fans, whether they be old friends or for making new ones. And when we say for charity - we mean it - nobody in the committee is on the payroll. We are providing the PA, and the headline bands are playing for free like everyone else. On the Saturday evening we have a treat for those attending - a superb line up of acts including Phil Doleman, Chonkinfeckle, Krabbers, The NUkes, ooty and the cloud, Dead Mans Uke and maybe more. On the day there will be other attractions, including an amazing charity raffle being organised by Mary Agnes Krell, a cake stall, competitions and more. Grab a uke, come along, have fun! nukefest/ For camping - call the Cotton Arms and ask for Joe on 01270 780377
