Our hearts are broken tonight, but the Rainbow Bridge has welcomed - TopicsExpress

Our hearts are broken tonight, but the Rainbow Bridge has welcomed another beloved doggie. Our sweet old boy Remington left us this afternoon while Linda and I were out for a couple of hours. We have no idea how old he was, but he came to us on Veterans Day Sunday 2005 at church. He came to our van, jumped in, and told us he was coming home with us. Because we already had a Winchester, Aaron Middleton promptly named him Remington. As you can see, he was mostly coal black, but the last few years the black was all grey. He was the most loyal and the happiest dog ever. Everyone was his friend!! We knew that the last few months that his heart was giving out. But we had just bought him some little steps to help him get onto the couch, and this afternoon, right before we left this afternoon, he came up to me, I scratched his ears, and told him what a good dog he was. Maybe that was all he needed to hear, because 2 hours later, he was gone. Now he is running again with Jack, Lee, Shelby, Doc, Shiloh, merlin and all our other precious pups...Thank you Remmy, for nearly 10 years of love and loyalty that we can never, ever, repay...But I promise we will try. Run free, sweet Remmy.
