Our most recent meeting with Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz of the - TopicsExpress

Our most recent meeting with Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz of the Department of Labor and Employment last January 27 in her office, together with Arch Bert Nuke, Founding president of UAP, Former PRC Board Member Gigi Chuachiaco, Joel Rico of PIA, Arch Peach Buencamino and Siena Nazareta of Elliptical Chapter , Arch Malu Guttierez of Diliman Chapter, and myself as one of many working in government, clarified many things for the architectural profession. For one, the press release made by the Philppine Star was based on an interview that was taken quite out of context, unintentionally by the press. 1) The lack of architects referred more on the lack of specialization of architects that must first and foremost be defined by the PRC Board of Architecture, together with the UAP, and that the same must be done immediately. 2) After the identification and definition of such fields of specialization, the process of accreditation and inclusion in the masterlist of architects specializing on certain fields must be undertaken. 3) the same must be accredited and registered with the PRC so that there will be a roster of architects that can be tapped for jobs that will be needed, so that when 2015 comes, foreign architects cannot just practice here without referencing to the master list as submitted to PRC. In cases when there are no local specialists, the foreign professional must take in a local understudy so that the latter may learn from the foreign professional 4) this is one of the safety nets explained by Secretary Baldoz to our group that the public must know. She pointed out that we are very much delayed, however, we must act now. Thank you Secretary Baldoz for accomodating our courtesy call, and we got information direct from the source. Salamat po.. Maam Linda.
