When I was young, I read a book by Robert Frank. I remember he said every picture you take now, after you take it, it becomes history, the past. And he worked experimentally with the medium like scratching the negative. Photographs were never about going to the future, as an object. But you do have a reflection for the future. So I didn’t agree with Robert Frank’s phrase but it was quite an influence to me as a form of dialectic. Sometimes in photography you have to talk about tomorrow, along with the past and history.
