Our next campus showing will be tonight (Thursday 30th) from 6:30pm in D.B. 114, where well be showing not a film, but a short TV series! Deadset was a horror drama shown in 2008 on Channel 4, set in a fictional series of Big Brother during a zombie apocalypse! The show follows the housemates as they slowly realise that there are no crowds outside to welcome them, only the hordes of the undead! They then try to find a way out their situation, but dont hold out for a happy ending... The series was written by Charlie Brooker, who also created the Black Mirror series of dark satire that aired on the same channel. Deadset carries the same mocking approach to society, with clever jabs here and there at some of humanitys less than desirable traits. The entire series (5 episodes) runs to just over 2 hours, so well have plenty of time to see the whole thing from start to finish. If you enjoyed films like Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland or even the Black Mirror series itself, Deadset should be right up your street!
