Our phones have been ringing off the hook. Windows XP has reached End of Support (EOS). What does this mean for those that still have Windows XP? Here is the simplified solution. (Microsoft solutions will confuse you). Simply: First, They are only going to stop doing updates for XP. Your computer will not quit working. If your computer is (around) 6 years old, do not think about upgrading to Windows 8 or 8.1. Start planning on a new computer. If you know that your windows XP is 64 bit, then and only then think about upgrading to Windows 8. You do not need to but a new computer immediately, but you should consider it in the near future. Second, you can continue to run Windows XP. If you are using Microsoft Security Essentials, uninstall it and install Avast Free or another Antivirus of your choice. Also, you should start using Google Chrome or Firefox as your internet browser instead of Internet Explorer. (You cannot remove Internet Explorer, just stop using it). And start planning on a new computer or laptop. I hope this simplifies and helps! :-)
