Our post of Nov 1, 2012 titled "A ROLE FOR ELDERS IN THE CHURCH" (please click the link to our page titled "BRINGING BACK THE CHURCH" for this post) was also in many ways a call to holy rebellion. Phillipians 2:2 prescribes that all the members of the church be of one mind and one accord. But that can only be if the church is standing on the truth as what Paul called "the pillar and ground of the truth" (I Tim 3:15). Outside the truth, church unity is no different from that of those that sought to build the tower of Babel. During church error, the Word commends those who avoid the wide road of falsehood and error, though they be only a minority. The latter part of the post therefore deals with those situations in which the leaders of church error, like old wine skins, ignore the counsel of elders or members and refuse to drop error. What do the sheep do then, particularly when their leaders insist they must drink from the fountain of their leaders alone? Follow the blind into the pit? The post therefore also begins to address these issues, and should be better titled, "A ROLE FOR THE ELDERS AND THE SHEEP IN THE END-TIME FIGHT AGAINST CHURCH ERROR". You are invited to look at this piece again, as the church moves into end-time restoration of forsaken truths. Thank you.
