Our signs for our mobilisations have just arrived... and today, were getting ready for our mobilisation in Ceres this Wednesday, pushing for justice in the prosecution of David Olyns murder. David was an LGBTI youth in Ceres and his murder is believed to be a #hatecrime! Stop homophobia & protect all citizens! If youre in the Ceres area, join us for our mobilisation at the Magistrates Court at 830am...the hearing at 9am will decide whether the case against the accused will proceed. Sonke and our partners interventions have helped get the judicial wheel rolling in this case. Unfortunately, none of the recent LGBTI cases in the Ceres area have made it to court! We hope that Davids murder will not go unpunished as happens too often in South Africa, and continue to raise our voices to demand a national strategic plan to combat gender-based violence from our government NOW!
