Our vets were shocked when a kitten arrived at Lort Smith with fishing line tied around his scrotum and penis in a cruel attack. Animal cruelty is never OK. There is no excuse. The fishing line had cut deeply into his skin and the swelling had exacerbated the effect of the fishing line, blocking the urethra which meant the kitten couldn’t urinate and was in serious danger and excruciating pain. We removed the line and repaired the wounds under general anaesthetic and after a few days in intensive care the kitten began to heal. We have no doubt this was a deliberate attack and we find it hard to understand how anyone could inflict such cruelty on an animal. If you have seen or heard what you suspect may be abuse, report it to the RSPCA by calling 9224 2222 or online at rspcavic.org/services/inspectorate/report-cruelty. heraldsun.au/leader/west/bacchus-marsh-cat-roofus-targeted-in-a-torturous-act-of-animal-cruelty-shocking-vets-and-his-owner/story-fngnvmj7-1226992083900
