Our whales are officially gone. We have not managed to find a single one in the last few days. A very early ending to our whalewatching season which normally ends in early January. But we now move into a period where we start finding Humpback Whales and Brydes Whales appearing in the bay at random times. If you look back to posts in early 2014 you will find some photos of both species. I will do my best to capture some interesting marine life images over the next 6 months until our Southern Rights return. Not having any flights over the last few days I spent a perfect evening in the most magnificent setting at the Sumaridge Wine Estate at an outdoor concert by Jesse Clegg. Lying on the grass listening to great music while watching the sun set in the west over the mountains and sea brought home to me how lucky I am to live where I do with whales, mountains, lagoons, spectacular scenery and more things to do than I can manage. If you dont live in Hermanus then come and experience what this area has to offer. If you live in Cape Town get to one of Jesse Cleggs concerts over the next few weeks, it is well worth it.
