Out On The Pike Yawn... sorry, I went to bed late and I slept - TopicsExpress

Out On The Pike Yawn... sorry, I went to bed late and I slept late. The animals didnt wake us until just as the clock turned to six. It wasnt for the lack of trying on the cats part though. They were hard at work on me this morning. The failed because I was being stubborn, if you can imagine that. If you cant, you dont know me. It was the dogs that got the job done this morning. My left eye is nearly swollen shut this morning. I have allergies, Ive taken my drops, and it still feels like there is something under my eyelid. Mary looked and she cant see anything. Shes too rough to be messing with my eye with those little gnome hands of hers. Ill put some ointment in after a bit. And yes, I do have the real opthalmic ointment. Thats the stuff the Ophthalmologist prescribes for you. Its cool outside this morning. The temperature is hanging at 50f/10c. We have a very light wind or rather breeze. That makes it feel more like 49f. We should be going to the high 70s today. We have a white sky here for now but it should clear off. The noise for the interstate is rolling across the country side and is traveling across the fields. Its loud this morning. There is a lot of semi traffic but not much car traffic. The pike is nearly devoid of travelers. We did get to have our Friday the thirteenth, full moon, bonfire. There was too much wind and the brush pile is far too high. We could have set a couple of trees on fire if we had lit it off. It is always better to be safe rather than sorry. There will be another time. It just wont be the special moon. That only happens every 823 years. We did get the tomatoes in the ground for Cindy, Sherry, and family. We also put a few more plants in our own. We planted four Sunray tomatoes, cilantro / coriander, and a Wandering Jew plant that is hanging on the front porch. Ma has some border flowers she needs to get in the ground and I have to thin out and transplant some of my hostas. I have several types. Weve got to be careful because we have poison ivy everywhere. We also managed to get our fishing and hunting licenses. We bought the ten year special ones this time. It will be my seventy fifth birthday when I will need to renew one. Funny though, I was told last year that when I turned sixty five I wouldnt have to pay for the license anymore. Funny how they change the rules. I think the state of Indiana is money grubby. Everything is taxed her except food, and the air we breath, so far. What are the plans for the day... uh? Danged if I know. Im drinking my very first cup of the morning and trying to type with one eye almost swollen shut. The coffee isnt waking my up, Im grumpy and miserable. We might watch a movie or something today. Maybe read. Do some routine stuff around here, if we cant get motivated this morning. I reckon Ma will give me some marching orders. We watched the movie “Grudge Match” with Sylvester Stallone and Robert Dinero. The movie was about a boxing match between Razor Sharp and The Kid. We would know them better under the names of Rocky Balboa and The Raging Bull. Two geriatric men in a boxing match that has taken thirty years to happen. There is also a touching romantic angel as well with the female part being played by Kim Bassinger. Kevin Hart plays the part as the fight manager. The movie is not as funny as the commercials might have you believe. The movie moves along slowly at times but it does keep your interest. Its worth the watch. Three and a half stars out of five for me. Still, did enjoy watching it. Mary continues to read the J.D. Robb books and I continue with the Glen Cook series. Ive got one and a half books to go. Ma has a list a couple of pages long to go in her series. We will find some reading time in our day today. The music selection today is going to be a surprise. To me anyway, because I havent a clue what I might put up this morning. Some of you folks need to put in some danged request sometime. Oh hey, Ive got a couple of more stories about Bill and I. I will be posting another one very soon which will be titled “Bill, Ray, Me and the pickup truck” or “The day Ray thought he had killed Bill.” Either title works for me. Bill, Ray, Me. Ha! That kind of comes off the tongue like Do-ray-mi. Ive out of here. I need more hot, black coffee! Hey, all yall! Have yourselves a super special day today! Look, the sun is going to come out and play! Peace and love man, peace and love. Far out eh? namaste
