Out of the hospital, into the hotel. Quick highlights: -I have a hand-sized scar at my belly button, and three finger-sized holes in other places on my abdomen (pictures upon request) -In order to manouver and see around during the laproscopic procedure, they pump CO2 gas into my belly like a big balloon. Afterwards, some of it is trapped inside my body and slowly works itself out. If you push on my ribs/lats/penis, you will hear and feel the crackling of hundreds of tiny air bubbles inside my skin. -I wear a velcro girdle any time Im vertical, it helps support the abdominal muscles they sliced through. I walk like a hunch back because standing up tall feels like Im going to rip open the incision. -Coughing is the absolute most painful thing I can do, so much so that I just refuse to. If something is caught in my throat this week...its just staying there. -I havent pooped since Monday, and at this point I cant tell the difference between swelling from surgery, or from digesting....really I have no idea whats going on inside me. -Im on a narcotic that doesnt make me too loopy (I wish it did). Ill be here in the hotel doing nothing for a while. If you have any questions, or just feel like keeping me company, Ill be right here.
